Typeit4me forces douible clicks9/6/2023 Products that I love, and that I'd like to keep buying in the future because they're really cool. However, the double clicking on your mices has reached untolerable levels. And now a G Pro Wireless that also double clicks. This is an issue that in my experience spans nearly a decade of your products, and I'm far from the only one being in this situation. I've had other brands of mices that never had this problem. Why is it that your company, with all the resources and talent that it possesses, cannot find a solution to a problem that is (as far as I know) exclusive to your own products? Even cheap garbage mices at 1/20 to 1/30 of your price points have worked consistently and reliably for me, even after heavy abuse for over a decade. We've been told loads of bullcrap by both your representatives and members of the community as to what the issue could be. From software bugs to "static electricity".īut the truth is that it's plain simple mechanical failure - soldering new switches on fixes it permanently. I'm honestly tired of spending a lot of money on your peripherals only to find that once again a product from the chinese discount would've given me a better user experience. I believe that if you want to consider yourself a premium brand, "a choice of the Pro's", etc. you should at the very least take ownership of the issue, address it, and fix it once and for all. Heck, I'd be fine even if you want to meet us in the middle and treat switches as consumables. Socket them, and when they start double clicking we just purchase new ones and slot them in. It's still better than what we are currently dealing with, as very few of your users have the tools and confidence to do soldering work on a 100€+ peripheral. I fully agree with you don't get me wrong. I don't like complaining just for the sake of it. I also worked in production and fully understand the law of big numbers even for high end products. However - try googling "g pro wireless double clicking". You'll notice the unusual volume of results for it being just a statistical defect. You'll also notice that if you search for "double clicking mouse" most of the first results are about Logitech. Though in all fairness, this might also be a statistical bias due to Logitech being also a top brand for mices. But even if it's a statistical bias, it's still noteworthy - specially considering the particularly deep partnership there is between Logitech and Omron.Īnyways - it's too many and to just be a one-off defect, and it's been happening for too much time (nearly a decade in my experience, and becoming worst over time). They won't address the issue and they won't say anything concrete when asking questions about it. Yes the gpw will double click because the switches run at a under voltage spec causing it to oxidize over time. They don't look into it, they don't give advice other than "just RMA". this is why 50 mil omrons are bad, tho this mostly happens on wireless mice in comparison the XM1 is less likely to double click due to it being wired. And as one of the other redditors that commented noted, he RMA'd the bloody thing 4 times. Do you find that acceptable? Sometimes you need to call out the bullshit, specially if it's a company you like and that you wish to see become better. I'm not going to pull an Apple and just comply with whatever garbage they throw at me, sorry.
